
24-7 Spyz was one of a handful of stylistically diverse all-black rock bands to emerge during the mid-to-late 1980's. Along with the likes of Living Colour, Fishbone, Bad Brains and Follow For Now, the Spyz delivered a potent fusion of rock, soul, funk, and metal to a fierce underground following, but never achieved significant commercial success. Last year, after many lineup changes and one extended breakup, the band put out its first album of new material in over a decade, called Face the Day.
"Don't Break My Heart" comes from their 1990 release Gumbo Millennium, another one of my long out-of-print mega-favorite albums that no one bought. Here are some used, cheap copies at Amazon. Go get one.
