Whether it was called Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, The Les Claypool Frog Brigade, Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, Les Claypool and the Frog Brigade, Colonel Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, or simply the Frog Brigade (whew), the band was formed after Primus went on an indefinite hiatus in 2000.  They staged a tour as well as a few single event shows and endured many lineup changes up until around 2004, when Claypool moved on to other projects.

After putting out two live albums in 2001 (one of which consists of Pink Floyd's Animals performed in its entirety), Purple Onion was released in '02, featuring the anti-DUI tune "Buzzards of Green Hill."

This is part of a week-long series on the many projects of Les Claypool.
