The closing track from XTC's 1989 release Oranges and Lemons is probably my preferred cut from that record. Yes, I know it also contains "Mayor of Simpleton" and "King for a Day." Gasp! I actually prefer album filler songs over "hits"? Bollocks! Will the wonders never cease???
Actually, in all honesty, there are some albums where the more popular tunes are, in fact, the best ones. Maybe I'll hit on one such example later on. But for now, dreamy filler tracks with cool chord progressions rule all!!
Hear "Chalkhills and Children" on Imeem.
This is part of week-long series on... something.
