I'm old enough to have vague memories of when Hot Butter's goofball cover of Gershon Kingsley's "Popcorn" was a hit in 1972.  Granted, I was VERY young then, but I found it cheesy even at that time.  Or perhaps it rocked my three-year-old world and I'm just remembering it wrong.

In any case, as I've grown old and decrepit, I've become more tolerant of musical cheesiness.  I've even embraced it openly.  Celebrated it even.  To say that I'm "celebrating" "Popcorn" may be a bit of a stretch, but yeah, I'd say I'm embracing its cheese factor.
