
Look, I really have no problem with the sentiments expressed in this song. "Flag still stands for freedom and they can't take that away", I'm down with that. I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. I'm proud to be an American too.
But it doesn't make the tune any less putrid. Seriously, songs that take pride in your country do not have to be THIS FREAKING LAME!
So what do we do? Play it incessantly at July 4th fireworks shows. And people actually (gulp) sing along. Groan.
