Max's Song-a-Day Blog turns one today. Always wondered if I would have enough motivation to keep this thing going through a whole calendar year, I guess I know the answer.
Will I make it through another year? Maybe. But however long I stick around, some things are certain. I will post goofy songs from the 80s. I will express my distaste for music critics and "smooth jazz." I will fawn over good drummers and flap my yap about what's good and bad about "prog" music. I will receive hits from Google searches on enemas and bondage. I will also receive hits from Google image searches on that hot chick from Haysi Fantayzee.
Oh, and hopefully, members of bands I like will continue to show up and post here. It's really cool when that happens.

![]() Yeah, I know I just posted a whole week of Weird Al, but those were all band pastiches. I never did post a song from his 1983 debut album, so here is an appropriate one. Watch a fan-made video for "Happy Birthday" on YouTube. Oh, just so you know, Cycle 4 was a brand of dog food. |
Introduction
Some of my online cohorts at the Songfight community decided to create blogs to highlight songs they like. I am now doing it as well, because I am a total lemming.
Songfight is a weekly songwriting competition based on titles provided by the site's administrators. I post there under the handle "Albatross." Go check it out. It's a gas. Blog Links
