
Well, howza 'bout that? Not only am I "borrowing" Niveous' numbers theme, I'm "appropriating" his initial song choice.
But I really couldn't pick anything else. ...And Justice For All (1988) came out right about the time I first got into this band, and this was certainly one of if not my favorite track from it.
You might know that this song is based on the Dalton Trumbo novel (and subsequent 1971 movie) Johnny Got His Gun. What you quite probably don't know is that years before this song came out, during my junior year in high school, I performed a segment of that book as a "dramatic interpretation" at a speech tournament. I didn't do that well, in part because that piece had been performed A LOT by that time, and I think the judges were just sick of it by then.
Plus, I just wasn't that good.
