I have no problem admitting publicly that I'm a fan of the Michael Jackson album Off the Wall. I said as much during my first week of doing this stupid thing. Even with all of his legal and financial woes, as well as his, er, "eccentricities", he was/is an amazing talent. And Quincy Jones was just masterful on this record.
I was hearing it on the ol' iPod this morning in the car. Sure, Off the Wall had its share of hits, but there is some great filler too. A really good non-hit that was co-penned by Stevie Wonder is called "I Can't Help It." I guess I just go nuts for those types of lush, jazzy major seventh-laden keyboard arrangements.
And he doesn't cry at the end of it.
